The Knights Hospitallers is a museum experience housed in part of the Sacra Infermeria, the Holy Infirmary built by the Order of St John in Valletta. When it was completed in the 16th century, the infirmary was one of the most advanced hospitals in Europe.
The displays use reconstructed scenes and figures to tell the story of the Order, from its origins caring for pilgrims in the Holy Land to its rule over Malta and the medical care it gave to patients of every faith.
The building itself, later known as the Mediterranean Conference Centre, is part of the attraction, with its enormous Great Ward once among the longest hospital halls in the world.
