Ramla Bay and its beach are situated in a fertile vale in the northern part of Gozo island. The name of the bay is translated from Maltese language as “red sandy beach”.
Ramla Bay has a wide clean beach of reddish and golden sand. It is located in the zone with reach historic heritage. In their surroundings the ruins of a luxurious roman villa can be found.
The beach is surrounded by green hills and caves providing the fascinating landscapes. In the western part of the beach Calypso cave is situated – according to a legend, it was here where Odyssey was kept in captivity by nymph Calypso during 7 years before he returned home. Also a statue of Virgin Mary erected in the year 1881 can be seen on the beach.
Ramla Bay beach is well-conditioned and offers numerous services to make your rest comfortable. You can rent umbrellas and deckchairs and have a snack or a refreshing drink in a kiosk. The lovers of active rest can practice waterskiing or banana boating. The water is very clear that will be appreciated by the fans of snorkeling.

Watch out for jelly fish. If you do get stung the shops have some after bite to take the stinging / swelling down

Rainbow flags means Matthew Sammut is swimming in the water. Otherwise bring a cooler full of beer and just fry for a few hours. Be careful of bees though, they'll try to steal it when you look away.

This had the best water I experienced in Malta. So clear and wild, we saw a live octopus near the rocks while snorkeling. Take your GoPro

A fine sandy beach on the north coast of Gozo. Said to be the best beach on either Gozo or Malta. It's name means "sandy".
